Chapter One: The Girl Who Dreamed
I can trace the origins of this blog to four fateful words from my therapist, "you need to get a hobby". Friends suggested golf, tennis, and even a dance class. No, thank you! I chose to ignore the whole hobby suggestion for several weeks until I stumbled upon EPBOT. EPBOT is an insanely entertaining blog by Jen, who also created Cake Wrecks. It was late at night/early in the morning and I was more than sixteen hours into a twenty-four hour shift. I'm a resident physician, so my life involves a lot of twenty-four hour shifts. Those shifts involve a lot of delirious late night google searches. What possessed me to Google Harry Potter Christmas Tree? I don't know. I've decided it was the spirit of Albus Dumbledore that moved me to type in those words, but it really doesn't matter. What really matters is that I typed those words into Google, found EPBOT, stared in wonder at Jen's Harry Potter Christmas Tree, and decided instantly that making a similar tree would be my new hobby. I've been a Harry Potter fan for years. I love the books, I love the movies, I love geeking out at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I desperately want to become a better writer, and I'm also crazy obsessed with Christmas. So, I would like to make my apologies to golf, tennis, and dance classes. I have found my new hobby. This Christmas, Hogwarts comes to Ellie's House!
